We’re hardworking professionals who embrace a challenge and love nothing more than to buckle down and do the things others can’t.

We’re experts who understand environmental regulations, participate in policy development, and use our stellar reputation to earn one of the highest permitting success rates in the Southeast.

We’re your partners who approach every single project with unrivaled intensity, never settle for “good enough,” and are never afraid of making the tough call or having the hard conversation.

We’re HHNT. And we are the best at what we do.

Our History

Our story starts in 1990 when our four founders launched Hodges, Harbin, Newberry, and Tribble, Inc. as a general environmental engineering consulting firm. It soon became apparent that the firm’s expertise in consulting on solid waste projects set us apart from our competitors. As environmental regulations became increasingly strict and permitting requirements became more complex, we found our niche market in helping clients navigate complex permitting and compliance hurdles.

We quickly expanded our client base to include industrial facilities, working with leaders in the mining, governmental, industrial, construction and other industries on a wide variety of projects. As we continued providing engineering design, ecological, permitting, construction management, and compliance support, we continued to grow our reputation with regulators and clients and soon expanded our client base across the Southeast.

Now licensed to operate in 12 states, HHNT has a regional reputation for excellence. Regulators routinely use our permit applications as examples of what permit applications should look like. Our expertise has made us a valuable resource not only for our clients but also for policymakers and industry associations, who count on HHNT to provide a valuable voice in their discussions.

Our Environmental Engineering and Consulting Team

Today, HHNT operates six offices, with home office operations out of our original Macon, Georgia location. Our team comprises more than 45 of the region’s most talented and innovative project engineers, ecologists, and environmental scientists, all of whom are 100% invested in our clients’ success.

Our work often requires eyes on the site and boots on the ground. Our ecology teams spend months together in the field, performing detailed site surveys. Our project managers are consistently on site, ready to handle issues in real-time.

Our leadership is in the trenches alongside you, too. Every HHNT project has a partner directly involved, ensuring that our most experienced environmental engineers and scientists have visibility on all of our client work.
